(Head office: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; President: Shigehiro Komaru) and Public Interest Incorporated Foundation Komaru Koutsu Foundation (Chief Director: Shigehiro Komaru) donated 340 traffic safety textbooks called “Raise and Learn the Heart of Safety” to first graders of 12 elementary schools in Kasaoka City, Okayama Prefecture and Kasaoka City Board of Education. For this 6th book donation, Kasaoka City Mayor Mr. Yoshifumi Kobayashi presented a letter of appreciation for our activities to realize a traffic accidents-free community for providing educational opportunities to enhance children’s traffic safety awareness.

The textbooks explain how to safely cross the streets and ride a bicycle in an easily understandable way for children. Parents can learn how to educate children about traffic safety.

Through the donation of traffic safety instruction books, the foundation will continue to raise traffic safety awareness to prevent and decrease the number of future traffic accidents among children.

Komaru Koutsu Foundation was established on September 9, 2013, to promote traffic safety awareness, hosting various traffic safety lectures in schools across Japan and carrying out educational activities to prevent traffic accidents. Furthermore, the foundation supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing opportunities for students overseas studying Japanese to present the results of their studies and organizing Japanese composition speech contests to raise traffic safety awareness and promote cultural exchange with Japan.
