Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (Head office: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; President: Shigehiro Komaru) and Komaru Koutsu Foundation (Chief Director: Shigehiro Komaru) shared opinions regarding future industry-academia cooperation with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sharifudin bin Md Shaarani and Associate Prof. Dr. Zoraida Mustafa on February 20 at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia.
Accompanied by Mr. Toshiyuki Satou, Executive and Vice President of Hiroshima University, President Komaru explained our business in Southeast Asia, exchanged opinions for partnership with USIM for cultural exchange, and adjusted the specifics of organizing the Japanese composition speech contest.
Located in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia is a national university with higher education standards. It has Japanese culture and language center and offers Japanese learning courses.
Komaru Koutsu Foundation was established on September 9, 2013, to promote traffic safety awareness, hosting various traffic safety lectures in schools across Japan and carrying out educational activities to prevent traffic accidents. Furthermore, the foundation supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing opportunities for students overseas studying Japanese to present the results of their studies and organizing Japanese composition speech contests to raise traffic safety awareness and promote cultural exchange with Japan.
