August 9^th, 2022    Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (Head office: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; President: Shigehiro Komaru) held a ceremony on August 5th to pray for safety of the automatic baggage sorting system renewal at the Fukuoka Distribution Center. Construction is scheduled to be completed next autumn.

The Fukuoka Distribution Center is operated as an important hub for the northern Kyushu area, and in order to build an optimal transportation system in the network business to meet the diversifying needs of customers, the center will install Japan's largest and most advanced automatic sorting system using a cross-belt sorter. This automatic sorting system is equipped with both a gravimetric conveyor and a 4-stage telescopic conveyor, and its sorting capacity will be double that of the current system. Since it can improve work efficiency and reduce workload, the Company will work to address the "2024 issue" which is to apply overtime work regulations, and the improvement of transportation quality.

Moreover, the second phase of construction is already in the planning stage, and we are committed to further improving machine throughput, improving the working environment, and providing high-quality transportation services to further expand our business.
