As the transport industry is the heart of the company's business, Fukuyama Transporting bears a social obligation to reduce freight-related CO2 emissions. The company pursues a wide range of initiatives to pursue this goal.
Modal shift
Rail and sea transport produce only 1/8 and 1/4 of CO2 emissions respectively compared to road transport. Fukuyama Transporting is furthering a modal shift from trucks to rail and sea to reduce the environmental impact.

Eco-Procurement
We are increasing our fleet of CNG and other truck types that with a lighter environmental impact. As of March 31 2017, the company had 298 CNG trucks and 5 CNG fuelling facilities.
Practicing Eco-Driving
Our drivers are required to be environmentally aware when driving, eliminating habits such as sudden acceleration and idling.

The despatch support system iSTAR-2 not only simplifies the despatching process, it also conveys all necessary information, removing the need for a despatch note and removing a significant demand for paper.
