Fourth Japanese Speech Contest held in Guizhou, China

In this contest, five people presented their speeches on the theme of "Big Data and Transportation".



Guizhou, China - October 1st, 2019    In collaboration with the Consulate-General of Japan in Chongqing, Hiroshima University, and Guizhou University, Komaru Koutsu Foundation (President: Shigehiro Komaru, Chairman and C.E.O. of Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd.) held the fourth Japanese speech contest at Guizhou University in Guiyang, Guizhou Province of Southwest China. Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (Headquarter: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; President: Shigehiro Komaru) is the contest's special sponsor of this event.

In this contest, five people presented their speeches on the theme of "Big Data and Transportation". The Award of Excellence went to Ms. Li Mulan from Guizhou National University who gave the speech about "By using big data, it has various possibilities to meet the needs of our lives, such as the alleviation of traffic congestion and quick emergency operations in traffic accidents. I want to realize a bright future with that progress." which honor was awarded by Shigehiro Komaru, the President of Komaru Transportation Foundation.

In addition, Kenji Saito, Deputy Consul General of Japan in Chongqing as an organizer, Professor Yoshio Honda at the Hiroshima University High School of Higher Education and Director Ou Gyobai of Guizhou University Foreign language Institute were attended to this event.

Komaru Koutsu Foundation was founded on September 9th, 2013 to promote traffic safety awareness, hosting various traffic safety lectures in Elementary, Junior High and High schools across Japan, as well as handing out traffic accident prevention leaflets on the street. Furthermore, a Japanese composition speech contest is being held in oversea to provide opportunities for presenting Japanese language education, experience cultural exchange and spreads awareness of traffic safety.

Other than Guizhou, the Japanese Speech Contest is also held in Shanghai, Beijing (*) in China, Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam, Jakarta in Indoesia, and Kaunas City in Lithuania. In this year of 2019, there will be the third event after Ho Chi Minh and Lithuania.

(*) Beijing event is hosted by Hiroshima University; Fukuyama Transporting, Komaru Koutsu Foundation, and Shibuya Ikueikai Foundation were special sponsors.
