They could learn about the traffic accident prevention at intersections and pedestrian crossings.
April 23rd, 2021
Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, President: Shigehiro Komaru) and Komaru Koutsu Foundation (Chairman: Shigehiro Komaru,) co-hosted traffic safety classes relating to trucks for 97 second grade elementary school students on April 22 at Yonago city Kuzumo Elementary School in Tottori Prefecture as the first time in the Sanin region.
Because the location of Kuzumo Elementary School faces National Highway No. 9 where the traffic is heavy, the school requested to learn to prevent traffic accidents when commuting to school by using an actual truck and experience its characteristics and dangers. Then they could learn about the traffic accident prevention at intersections and pedestrian crossings.
The students commented, "There were lots of blind spots I couldn't see from the driver's seat," and " I was scared that the doll was involved".
Komaru Koutsu Foundation was founded on September 9th, 2013 to promote traffic safety awareness, hosting various traffic safety lectures in Elementary schools across Japan and carrying out educational activities to prevent traffic accidents. Furthermore, the foundation spreads awareness of traffic safety by hosting Japanese speech contests in overseas countries as an incentive to display their Japanese language education and experience cultural exchange.
