July 24^th, 2023    Mr. Shigehiro Komaru, President of Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd., visited the Republic of Lithuania from July 10, 2023, and had a meeting with Mr. Marius Skuodis, Minister for Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania, and Mr. Simonas Kairys, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania. During the meeting, they shared opinions regarding the development of friendly exchange and the future plans between Japan and the Republic of Lithuania.

President Komaru also had a meeting with Prime Minister Kishida, who was visiting Lithuania to attend the NATO summit.

President Shigehiro Komaru was appointed as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania in Fukuyama in January 2017 and Honorary Consul General in February 2021. Through such projects as a goodwill visit to Lithuania on Japan's first direct flight by chartered airplane, he is promoting cultural and academic exchanges in addition to the economic field. We will continue to promote friendship and goodwill between the two countries in economy, culture, and education.
