Komaru Koutsu Foundation (Head office: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; Chief Director: Shigehiro Komaru) held the first Japanese Composition Speech Contest on March 9th at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. The contest welcomed distinguished guests, including Mr. Isao Ijima, Special Advisor to the Cabinet, and Japanese Deputy Ambassador to Vietnam Ishikawa Isamu. It was co-hosted by Fukuyama City University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd (President: Shigehiro Komaru) was the special sponsor.
6 participants gave speeches on the theme of "transportation." Mr. Le Van Tan from Foreign Trade University won the grand prize for his speech, which emphasized that while improving transportation infrastructure takes years, raising awareness can be accomplished swiftly. He highlighted the importance of enhancing everyone's understanding of legal compliance in the transportation sector. Through a Japanese Composition Speech Contest, we will continue to raise traffic safety awareness, further deepen mutual understanding between Japan and Vietnam, and strengthen friendly relations between the two countries.
The Komaru Koutsu Foundation was founded on September 9th, 2013, to promote traffic safety and prevent accidents. The foundation conducts various traffic safety lectures in schools throughout Japan and engages in educational activities to promote road safety. Additionally, the foundation supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing opportunities for students studying Japanese overseas to present the results of their studies. They also organize Japanese composition speech contests to raise traffic safety awareness and encourage cultural exchange with Japan.
