Donation of Japanese books to Sonoma State University Komaru Library

Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. and the Public Interest Incorporated Foundation Komaru Koutsu Foundation held a Japanese book donation ceremony at Sonoma State University in the United States on October 28.



October 29th, 2025    Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; Chairman: Shigehiro Komaru) and the Public Interest Incorporated Foundation Komaru Koutsu Foundation (Chief Director: Shigehiro Komaru) held a Japanese book donation ceremony at Sonoma State University in the United States on October 28. The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Takeshi Ishihara, Deputy Consul General of Japan in San Francisco.

During the ceremony, 50 Japanese books were donated to support Japanese language education. The Komaru Library serves as a hub for student exchange and learning, helping to deepen understanding and strengthen friendly relations between Japan and the U.S.

Founded on September 9, 2013, the Komaru Koutsu Foundation is dedicated to promoting traffic safety and preventing accidents. The Foundation conducts educational programs in schools across Japan and implements initiatives to enhance road safety. In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Foundation also provides opportunities for international students studying Japanese to share their learning through composition and speech contests, fostering both traffic safety awareness and cross-cultural exchange.
