Signed a memorandum of understanding on sleep medicine with Hiroshima University and the establishment of endowed courses

The purpose is to develop sleep medical specialists and prevent occupational drivers from falling asleep and to establish a method for evaluating driving aptitude for sleep disorders.



February 19th, 2021    Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, President: Shigehiro Komaru) and National university corporation Hiroshima University (Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, President: Mitsuo Ochi, hereinafter "Hiroshima University") signed a memorandum of understanding on sleep medicine and established an endowed course on February 18th.

This agreement is part of research and development, examination, and human resource development related to traffic safety based on the cooperation agreement regarding comprehensive coordination and cooperation concluded with Hiroshima University in May 2016, and the purpose is to develop sleep medical specialists and prevent occupational drivers from falling asleep and to establish a method for evaluating driving aptitude for sleep disorders. Regarding the issue of traffic safety, we will continuously contribute to develop local communities and prevent traffic accidents with the mutual cooperation of research and development and human resource development through our academic-industrial collaboration as a social responsibility and a mission that we should fulfill.
