6th Japanese Speech Contest held in Shanghai, China.

There were 171 applicants on the theme of "Transportation" and the outstanding six persons among them gave speeches.



Shanghai, China - December 21st, 2019    Komaru Kotsu Foundation(President: Mr. Shigehiro Komaru, also Chairman and C.E.O of Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd.) held the 6th Japanese Speech Contest by Chinese at Shanghai International Studies University, Shanghai, China and which is co-sponsor by Hiroshima University and Shanghai International Studies University.
In addition, Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. is the main sponsor of this contest.

The Japanese Speech Contest in Shanghai has been running since 2014 and this is the sixth time. There were 171 applicants on the theme of "Transportation" and the outstanding six persons among them gave speeches. The best award was, "In recent years, transportation has become faster and more convenient due to the development of transportation networks such as cars and subways, but I feel nostalgic about the warmth of my family and parents when my grandfather and father sent me to school by bicycle or motorcycle at elementary and junior high school. I would like to continue riding my bicycle with my family and friends and value the connection with people" and which gave a speech by Ms. Chen Yuqi from Huaiyin Normal University, who was awarded by Mr. Shigehiro Komaru, President of Komaru Kotsu Foundation.
As a guest, Ms. Tomoko Takaoka, Consul of the Consulate-General of Japan in Shanghai, Executive Vice President Mr. Toshiyuki Sato of Hiroshima University and Director Sheng Wenzhong from the Shanghai International Studies University, etc. were attended.

Komaru Koutsu Foundation was founded on September 9th, 2013 to promote traffic safety awareness, hosting various traffic safety lectures in Elementary, Junior High and High schools across Japan, as well as handing out traffic accident prevention leaflets on the street. Furthermore, a Japanese composition speech contest is being held in oversea to provide opportunities for presenting Japanese language education, experience cultural exchange and spreads awareness of traffic safety. In China, other than Shanghai, the Japanese Speech Contest held in Guizhou, Beijing(*) and also Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam, Jakarta in Indonesia, and Kaunas in Lithuania.
(*) is organized by Hiroshima University and Fukuyama Transportation, Komaru Kotsu Foundation and Shibuya Ikueikai Foundation are the main sponsors.
