6th Japanese Composition Speech Contest in Indonesia

This year's contest was held online between Japan and Indonesia to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection following last year.



December 6th, 2021    The Komaru Koutsu Foundation (Location: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Chief Director: Shigehiro Komaru) held the 6th Japanese Composition Speech Contest jointly with Hiroshima University PERSADA-HU Collaboration Project Center on December 4, at the headquarters of Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd., in the presence of Mr. Kenji Kanasugi, Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia H.E., Mr. Tri Mardjoko, President of Darma Persada University, and Mr. Toshiyuki Sato, Executive Vice President of Hiroshima University. This year's contest was held online between Japan and Indonesia to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection following last year. Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (President: Shigehiro Komaru) is a special sponsor.

This year's contest has received 111 entries from 10 universities on the theme of "transportation" in an effort to improve the Japanese language education in Indonesia, and 10 students who were selected in advance presented the results of their daily studies in their speeches. The first prize was awarded to Ms. Christian Putra Riandi from Darma Persada University for her speech on "The Impact of the New Coronavirus Infection on Public Transportation in Indonesia. This contest aims to raise awareness of traffic safety, deepen mutual understanding between Japan and Indonesia, and strengthen friendly relations.

The Komaru Koutsu Foundation was founded on September 9th, 2013 in order to promote and raise traffic safety awareness, and has conducted traffic safety lectures at elementary schools nationwide and educational activities to prevent traffic accidents.

Komaru Koutsu Foundation was founded on September 9th, 2013 to promote traffic safety awareness, hosting various traffic safety lectures in Elementary schools across Japan, as well as handing out traffic accident prevention leaflets on the street. Furthermore, a Japanese composition speech contest is being held in oversea to provide opportunities for presenting Japanese language education, experience cultural exchange and spreads awareness of traffic safety.
