June 14^th, 2024    Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (Head office: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; President: Shigehiro Komaru) and Public Interest Incorporated Foundation Komaru Koutsu Foundation (Chief Director: Shigehiro Komaru) held the traffic safety class for 24 third graders of Fukuyama Municipal Kanae Elementary School in Hiroshima Prefecture on June 14th.
Upon receiving a request from the school, we organized hands-on experience learning about necessary traffic rules and manners to prevent accidents. Students learned the characteristics and potential hazards of trucks, safe conduct at intersections, and pedestrian crossings. The experience strengthened their safety awareness, and the students mentioned that now that they had learned vehicles cannot stop suddenly, they promised not to run out into the road.
We are committed to continuing our efforts to prevent and decrease the number of future traffic accidents among children by engaging in traffic safety education and raising awareness in cooperation with police stations and local authorities.

The Komaru Koutsu Foundation was founded on September 9th, 2013, to promote traffic safety and prevent accidents. The foundation conducts various traffic safety lectures in schools throughout Japan and engages in educational activities to promote road safety. Additionally, the foundation supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing opportunities for students studying Japanese overseas to present the results of their studies. They also organize Japanese composition speech contests to raise traffic safety awareness and encourage cultural exchange with Japan.
