September 29th, 2025    Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; Chairman: Shigehiro Komaru) and the Komaru Koutsu Foundation (Chief Director: Shigehiro Komaru) conducted a traffic safety seminar for 20 senior citizens on September 26 at the Tsubou Community Center in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture.

Requested by the Tsubou School District Traffic Safety Association, the seminar emphasized interactive learning to prevent traffic accidents. Participants strengthened their hazard perception through practical exercises, such as analyzing dashcam recordings and using a bicycle simulator. These activities strengthened their safety awareness, and reminded the importance of pausing to ensure their safety before crossing intersections.

As part of our ongoing efforts to reduce traffic accidents involving senior citizens, we will continue working closely with local police and authorities to promote traffic safety education and awareness.

The Komaru Koutsu Foundation, established on September 9, 2013, is dedicated to promoting traffic safety and accident prevention. The foundation conducts educational programs in schools across Japan and promotes road safety through various initiatives. Supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the foundation also provides platforms for overseas students studying Japanese to present their learning, and hosts Japanese composition and speech contests to raise awareness of traffic safety and foster cultural exchange.
