November 12^th, 2025    Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (Head office: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; Chairman: Shigehiro Komaru) and Public Interest Incorporated Foundation Komaru Koutsu Foundation (Chief Director: Shigehiro Komaru) held a traffic safety class for 110 students of Fukuyama Municipal Kanae Elementary School in Hiroshima Prefecture on November 12.

Upon receiving a request from the school, we organized a hands-on experience to help students grasp essential traffic rules and manners to prevent accidents. They learned the characteristics and potential hazards of trucks, safe conduct at intersections, and pedestrian crossings. As a result, students became more aware of safety measures. Many students said they were surprised by how limited the driver’s view can be and expressed their commitment to being more careful around large vehicles.

We will continue working closely with local police and community organizations to provide ongoing education and help prevent future traffic accidents involving children.

The Komaru Koutsu Foundation, established on September 9, 2013, is dedicated to promoting traffic safety and accident prevention. The foundation conducts educational programs in schools across Japan and promotes road safety through various initiatives. Supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the foundation also provides platforms for overseas students studying Japanese to present their learning, and hosts Japanese composition and speech contests to raise awareness of traffic safety and foster cultural exchange.
