September 29^th, 2025    Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; Chairman: Shigehiro Komaru) and the Komaru Koutsu Foundation (Chief Director: Shigehiro Komaru) conducted a traffic safety seminar for 30 senior citizens on September 27 at the Dosan-cho Community Center in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture.

Requested by the Dosan-cho Neighborhood Association, the seminar aimed to equip seniors with practical skills to prevent traffic accidents. Through interactive exercises, including dashcam analysis and a bicycle simulator, participants improved their hazard perception. The seminar reminded the importance of safe riding habits, and many attendees expressed a renewed commitment to wearing reflective sashes, especially when cycling in the early morning or at dusk.

As part of our ongoing efforts to reduce traffic accidents involving senior citizens, we will continue working closely with local police and authorities to promote traffic safety education and awareness.

The Komaru Koutsu Foundation, established on September 9, 2013, is dedicated to promoting traffic safety and accident prevention. The foundation conducts educational programs in schools across Japan and promotes road safety through various initiatives. Supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the foundation also provides platforms for overseas students studying Japanese to present their learning, and hosts Japanese composition and speech contests to raise awareness of traffic safety and foster cultural exchange.
