Two Companies Collaborate to Launch Relay Long-Distance Transportation -Streamlining Logistics and Reducing the Workload of Truck Drivers-

Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce the commencement of relay long-distance transportation in collaboration with LOGISTEED, Ltd. using the "Trailer-Tractor Method*".

March 19th, 2025    Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce the commencement of relay long-distance transportation in collaboration with LOGISTEED, Ltd. using the "Trailer-Tractor Method*". This initiative aims to address the challenges of long-distance transportation by different logistics companies.

*There are three main types of relay transportation conducted by different truck operators:
1) Trailer-Tractor Method where tractors are exchanged at relay points.
2) Cargo Transshipment Method where cargos are transferred at relay points.
3) Driver Exchange Method where drivers are exchanged at relay points.

1. Background of the Initiative
From April 2024, the revised Labor Standards Act has been applied to the transportation industry, tightening restrictions on drivers' overtime work. This has raised concerns about social impacts such as a decline in transportation capacity due to a shortage of trucks. In this context, promoting the spread of relay transportation, which allows drivers to return home the same day, is necessary to advance work style reforms for drivers and secure human resources.
Fukuyama Transporting has a significant volume of cargo from Kansai to Kanto, while LOGISTEED has a volume of cargo from Kanto to Kansai. By combining the operations of both companies, we have been working towards improving logistics efficiency. After the trial transportation in December 2024, we are now ready to commence full-scale operations.

2. Purpose of the Collaboration
Relay transportation is a method where multiple drivers share a single transportation route, enabling drivers to workday trips for long-distance transportation. By placing relay points at intermediate locations between the pickup and delivery areas of both companies, we aim to reduce drivers' labor burden, create a more comfortable working environment, and improve logistics efficiency for both companies.

3. Details of the Collaboration
The relay transportation will be conducted using the "Trailer-Tractor Method" where tractors are exchanged at relay points. The relay point will be Fukuyama Transporting's Hamamatsu Branch, and the transportation will be carried out as follows:

(1) Fukuyama Transporting will bring cargo from Kansai to the relay point.
(2) LOGISTEED will bring cargo from Kanto to the relay point.
(3) Trailers will be exchanged at the relay point.
(4) Fukuyama Transporting will deliver LOGISTEED's cargo to Kansai.
(5) LOGISTEED will deliver Fukuyama Transporting's cargo to Kanto.

4. Start of Operations
The operations are scheduled to commence in April 2025.
