Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, President: Shigehiro Komaru, hereinafter, Fukuyama Transporting) and Japan Freight Railway Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President: Koichi Shingai, hereinafter, Japan Freight Railway) started operating the 4th round-trip dedicated block train "Fukuyama Rail Express" between Anji Kawaguchi Station (Konohana-ku, Osaka City) and Morioka Freight Terminal Station (Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture) from today.
At the start of operation, a departure ceremony was held at Ajikawaguchi Station on March 22nd.
Fukuyama Transporting has been operating a dedicated block train for one round trip every day for trunk transportation between Tokyo and Osaka since March 2013, between Tokyo and Okayama / Fukuyama (Hiroshima) since March 2015, and between Nagoya and Fukuoka since May 2017.
328 large trucks will be modally shifted to the freight railway with this fourth round trip launch.
Going forward, we will continue to actively work to realize a further modal shift to improve the labor of truck drivers in the recent logistics industry as well as reduce the burden on the global environment by CO2 emissions reduction.
