February 27^th, 2024    Shigehiro Komaru, President of Fukuyama Transporting Co. Ltd., received the “Lithuanian Diplomacy Star” from the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Lithuania on February 26th. The conferment ceremony took place at the Foreign Ministry of Lithuania. The Lithuanian Diplomacy Star is an honorable award presented to contributors for promoting the name of Lithuania abroad and fostering cross-border relations.

Since becoming the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania in Fukuyama in January 2017 and the Honorary Consul General in February 2021, President Komaru has endeavored to advance amicable bilateral relations through projects such as organizing three direct charter flights from Tokyo to Vilnius, hosting Japanese Composition Speech Contest and donating Japanese Books.

The award recognizes his contributions to fostering economic, cultural, and academic relations between Japan and Lithuania.

He will continue to take initiatives to develop and further deepen the amicable relations between the two countries through exchanges in cultural, academic, and economic fields.
