The Shibuya Ikueikai Foundation, an organization related to Fukuyama Transporting Co. Ltd., received a letter of appreciation from Fukuyama City on March 27th for providing a subsidy to the “Kiichi Miyazawa Memorial Museum” construction project.

The Shibuya Ikueikai Foundation (Chief Director: Shigehiro Komaru), an organization related to Fukuyama Transporting Co. Ltd., received a letter of appreciation from Fukuyama City on March 27th for providing a subsidy to the “Kiichi Miyazawa Memorial Museum” construction project.
Kiichi Miyazawa, the 78th prime minister, was born in Fukuyama City. 2021 was the 30th anniversary of his inauguration. To commemorate his achievements, the “Kiichi Miyazawa Memorial Museum” will be built inside the “Fukuyama City Matsunaga Footwear Museum.” The Memorial Museum is scheduled to open in May 2024 and will showcase a video highlighting his contributions and display some of his favorite items.
The foundation will continue to support initiatives that improve educational infrastructure, promote youth academic and cultural development, and flourish the local community.
The Shibuya Ikueikai was established in June 1985 to support child education. Since then, the foundation has been working on various projects to improve the lives of individuals and communities. These including to provide scholarships for high school and university students, supporting educational institutions, and community groups that conduct cultural and healthy upbringing activities for youth. The foundation also extends support to children and students unable to attend school. Every year since 2013, the foundation has been inviting elementary and junior high school students around Fukuyama City to NHK Symphony Orchestra concerts to foster rich sensibilities.
