Press Release

Implementation of traffic safety on the streets for a “2021 accident-free (Jiko Nashi) campaign”

This is the ninth time we have conducted this activity.

September 14th, 2021    Fukuyama Transporting Co., LTD.(Head Office: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; President: Shigehiro Komaru; hereinafter referred to as "Fukuyama Transporting") and the Komaru Koutsu Foundation (Chief Director: Shigehiro Komaru) co-hosted the campaign with the Fukagawa Police Station of the Metropolitan Police Department and the Fukagawa Traffic Safety Association. They held a traffic safety street activity called the "2021 accident-free (Jiko Nashi) Campaign" at the intersection in front of Toritsu Sanshoumae in Etchujima, Koto-ku, ahead of the "Autumn National Traffic Safety Campaign" from September 21 to 30.

The purpose of the "National Traffic Safety Campaign for Autumn" is to spread and disseminate the idea of traffic safety among the public, to instill the habit of observing traffic rules and practicing proper traffic manners, and to thoroughly prevent traffic accidents. Every year since 2013, Fukuyama Transporting has been distributing leaflets on traffic accident prevention and Nashi pears to commuters and students on the streets in honor of the "National Traffic Safety Campaign in Autumn" with the hope of eliminating traffic accidents. Nashi has a double meaning that are “Nashi Pear” and “eliminate” in Japanese. It is a creative way to eliminate traffic accidents with the distribution of Nashi pears.

This is the ninth time we have conducted this activity.
About 70 people from Fukuyama Transporting, Fukagawa Police Station of the Metropolitan Police Department, and the Fukagawa Traffic Safety Association handed out flyers and 300 Nashi pears, calling for traffic safety.
