December 13^th, 2023    Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (Head office: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; President: Shigehiro Komaru) and Public Interest Incorporated Foundation Komaru Koutsu Foundation (Chief Director: Shigehiro Komaru) signed a letter of intent for industry-academia cooperation with Sonoma State University, Fukuyama City University and Biagi Bros. on December 8th. The signing ceremony took place at Sonoma State University in the United States.

Through industry-academia cooperation, we will make our best efforts to develop a mutually beneficial relationship, including a Japanese composition speech contest held at Sonoma State University this October, internships at our company, and Japanese language education.

In addition to promoting Japanese language education and cultural exchanges between Japan and the U.S., we will contribute to strengthening the friendly relationship between the two countries.

Komaru Koutsu Foundation was established on September 9th, 2013, to promote traffic safety awareness, hosting various traffic safety lectures in schools across Japan and carrying out educational activities to prevent traffic accidents. Furthermore, the foundation supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing opportunities for students overseas studying Japanese to present the results of their studies and organizing Japanese composition speech contests to raise traffic safety awareness and promote cultural exchange with Japan.
