March 8^th, 2023    Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (Head office: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; President: Shigehiro Komaru) and the Komaru Koutsu Foundation (Chief Director: Shigehiro Komaru) held a Japanese book donation ceremony to the Komaru Library at Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Socialist Republic of Vietnam) on March 4. Since the opening of the Komaru Library in 2020, we have donated approx. 220 Japanese books for Japanese language education. Through this library, we will continue to offer a good place for mutual exchange between students, further deepen understanding and strengthen friendly relations between Vietnam and Japan.

Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities is one of the constituents of Ho Chi Minh City National Universities. In southern Vietnam, it is one of the highest humanities universities and the center of Japanese language education and research.

Komaru Koutsu Foundation was established on September 9, 2013, to promote traffic safety awareness, hosting various traffic safety lectures in elementary schools across Japan and carrying out educational activities to prevent traffic accidents. Furthermore, the foundation supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing opportunities for students overseas studying Japanese to present the results of their studies and organizing Japanese composition speech contests to raise traffic safety awareness and promote cultural exchange with Japan.
