December 21^th, 2020   The Komaru Koutsu Foundation (Headquarters: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Chairman: Shigehiro Komaru), Darma Pursada University and Hiroshima University PERSADA Joint Project Center as co-sponsored held the 5th Japanese Composition Speech Contest at the Hiroshima University "Fukuyama Transporting Komaru Bustle Pavilion" on December 19. This was the first remote event to connect Japan and Indonesia amid the spread of new coronavirus infections. Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (President: Shigehiro Komaru) is a special sponsor.

117 applicants from 10 universities were judged in advance in this contest, and 10 excellent people gave speeches on the theme of "transportation".
The best award is "In Indonesia, it is normal for children under the age of license to drive a motorcycle, and although my parents prohibited me, my friend taught me how to drive a motorcycle. My mother taught me the importance of safe driving when I was in an accident, and I learned the importance of thinking for myself without being swept away" which gave a speech by Ms. Delia Budi Kamila of the University of Brawijaya.
As guest, Mr. Masafumi Ishii, Ambassador of the Japanese Embassy in Indonesia, and as host, Mr. Mitsuo Ochi, President of Hiroshima University, and Mr. Tori Marjoko, President of Darma Persada University attended.

Komaru Koutsu Foundation was founded on September 9th, 2013 to promote traffic safety awareness, hosting various traffic safety lectures in Elementary schools across Japan, as well as handing out traffic accident prevention leaflets on the street. Furthermore, a Japanese composition speech contest is being held in oversea to provide opportunities for presenting Japanese language education, experience cultural exchange and spreads awareness of traffic safety.
