Between the dates of January 12th to 17th of 2018, President & C.E.O. of Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (Headquarter: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; "Fukuyama Transporting") Shigehiro Komaru accompanied Prime Minister Abe to attend his economic mission to 3 Baltic countries and 3 central and eastern European countries including the Republic of Lithuania.
In January 2017, President & C.E.O. Shigehiro Komaru was named honorary consul of Republic of Lithuania, and has promoted the cordial relations between Japan and Lithuania. Furthermore, he built the Fukuyama-residing, honorary consulate of Republic of Lithuania within the Fukuyama Transporting headquarters.
On January 13th (local time) President & C.E.O. Shigehiro Komaru gave a speech at the summit meeting between Prime Minister Abe and Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania, Saulius Skvernelis expanded to Japanese companies. In his speech, he stated that the "Republic of Lithuania functions as the logistic gateway between Asia and Europe, and is an important base in transportation for various reasons such as the ice-free port of Klaipeda, and well maintained web of expressways and railways. Fukuyama Transport would like to base operations in the Republic of Lithuania as a foothold to further expand business into the European countries. My ambition is to continually contribute to the economic exchange between Japan and the Republic of Lithuania."
