July 7^th, 2021   Fukuyama Transporting Co., LTD. (Head Office: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; President: Shigehiro Komaru; hereinafter referred to as Fukuyama Transporting) announced that it will start operating a new route today using a "25-meter double articulated truck" between Nagoya Branch (Kitanagoya City, Aichi Prefecture) and Iruma Branch (Iruma City, Saitama Prefecture). A departure ceremony was held today at the Nagoya Branch to mark the start of the operation. The new route will be operated in response to the expansion of the target routes for double-articulated trucks announced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in August 2019. The route from Nagoya brunch is Route 41 - Tomei Expressway Komaki Interchange - Metropolitan Area Central Linkage Expressway Ome Interchange - Route 16 - Iruma Branch.

In October 2017, Fukuyama Transport started operating Japan's first 25-meter double articulated (connected) truck between the Nagoya Branch and the Susono Office (Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture), and in December 2019 between the Tochigi Branch (Tochigi City, Tochigi Prefecture) and the Kitakami Branch (Kitakami City, Iwate Prefecture), and in March 2021 between the Fukuyama Branch (Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture) and the Fukuoka Distribution Center (Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture). This will be the fourth route for the 25-meter double articulated truck.
"The 25-meter double-articulated truck? is capable of transporting the equivalent of about two regular heavy-duty trucks in a single vehicle, which will contribute to more efficient trunk line transportation, an improved working environment for drivers, and a reduction in CO2 emissions, thereby reducing the burden on the global environment.

As of the end of June 2021, there are 1,578 qualified employees (towing license holders) who may operate the double articulated trucks, and we plan to increase the number of trucks in the future.
