September 9^th, 2024    Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (Head office: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; President: Shigehiro Komaru) and the Komaru Koutsu Foundation (Chief Director: Shigehiro Komaru) held a Japanese book donation ceremony to the Komaru Library at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University of Ho Chi Minh City (the USSH, VNUHCM) on September 9th. Since its opening in 2020, we have donated approximately 270 Japanese books to support Japanese language education. The Komaru Library serves as a platform for mutual exchange between students, providing an opportunity for deepening understanding and strengthening friendly relations between Vietnam and Japan.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University of Ho Chi Minh City, is one of the constituents of Ho Chi Minh City National Universities. It is one of the top humanities universities in southern Vietnam and is renowned as a leading center for Japanese language education and research.

The Komaru Koutsu Foundation was founded on September 9th, 2013, to promote traffic safety and prevent accidents. The foundation conducts various traffic safety lectures in schools throughout Japan and engages in educational activities to promote road safety. Additionally, the foundation supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing opportunities for students studying Japanese overseas to present the results of their studies. They also organize Japanese composition speech contests to raise traffic safety awareness and encourage cultural exchange with Japan.
