Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (Head office: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; president: Shigehiro Komaru) and the Komaru Koutsu Foundation (Chief Director: Shigehiro Komaru) held a ceremony to donate Japanese books to the Komaru Library at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) in Vietnam on March 9th. We donated 20 Japanese books to support Japanese language education.
The Komaru Library serves as a platform for mutual exchange between students, providing an opportunity to deepen understanding and strengthen friendly relations between the two countries.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology, established in 1956, is the first university specializing in technical fields in Vietnam. It is the most prestigious university in the country and is known for its high level of difficulty, particularly in engineering.
The Komaru Koutsu Foundation was founded on September 9th, 2013, to promote traffic safety and prevent accidents. The foundation conducts various traffic safety lectures in schools throughout Japan and engages in educational activities to promote road safety. Additionally, the foundation supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing opportunities for students studying Japanese overseas to present the results of their studies. They also organize Japanese composition speech contests to raise traffic safety awareness and encourage cultural exchange with Japan.
