The Komaru Koutsu Foundation (Headquarters: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Chief Director: Shigehiro Komaru) held the 19th Japanese Composition Speech Contest at Capital Normal University on December 22nd, accompanied by the guest of honor, Mr. Isao Iijima, Special Advisor to the Cabinet. The speech contest was co-organized with Fukuyama City University and Capital Normal University, and Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. served as a special sponsor. It has been five years since the contest was held on-site.
Under the theme "transportation," six students delivered speeches to raise traffic safety awareness in China. Ms. Huang Huimin from China Foreign Affairs University won the grand prize for her speech on how transportation can connect the world by creating roads that promote interaction among people.
Through a Japanese Composition Speech Contest, we will continue to raise traffic safety awareness, further deepen understanding, and strengthen friendly relations between the two countries.
The Komaru Koutsu Foundation was founded on September 9th, 2013, to promote traffic safety and prevent accidents. The foundation conducts various traffic safety lectures in schools throughout Japan and engages in educational activities to promote road safety. Additionally, the foundation supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing opportunities for students studying Japanese overseas to present the results of their studies. They also organize Japanese composition speech contests to raise traffic safety awareness and encourage cultural exchange with Japan.
