March 23^th, 2021   We are pleased to inform you that Shigehiro Komaru, President and CEO of Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. was appointed as Honorary Consul General on February 5, 2021. He has been the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania in Fukuyama since January 30, 2017 and this time, his efforts in economic, cultural and academic exchanges between Japan and the Republic of Lithuania have been highly evaluated.

Since he has been appointed Honorary Consul, he put the most effort to promote friendship between both countries.
He made a goodwill visit to Lithuania with Japan’s first direct flight by charter aircraft. Moreover, Japanese composition Speech Contest at Vitautas Magnus University was held and the books were donated to the university library. Thus he has been actively engaged in cultural and academic exchanges.
In addition, Fukuyama Transporting has entered into a business alliance with HOPTRANS, a logistics company headquartered in Lithuania, on August 12, 2018.
Going forward, he will continue to strive for friendship and goodwill between the two countries through culture, economy, education, etc., and contribute to the development of both Japan and the Republic of Lithuania.
