A traffic safety class held on trucks for 222 students of second and fourth grade at Yanaizu Elementary School in Gifu Prefecture on November 15th.

November 16th, 2021    Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (Head office: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; President: Shigehiro Komaru) and the Komaru Koutsu Foundation (Chief Director: Shigehiro Komaru) held a traffic safety class on trucks for 222 students of second and fourth grade at Yanaizu Elementary School in Gifu Prefecture on November 15th.

Yanaizu Elementary School is located near an industrial park and faces a main road with heavy truck traffic. In response to the elementary school's request to prevent traffic accidents with large vehicles, the students learned about traffic accident prevention at intersections and crosswalks by experiencing the characteristics and dangers of trucks using actual trucks. The students commented that they would always take a step back when waiting for a traffic signal.

Komaru Koutsu Foundation was founded on September 9th, 2013 to promote traffic safety awareness, hosting various traffic safety lectures in Elementary schools across Japan and carrying out educational activities to prevent traffic accidents. Overseas, it holds Japanese language composition contests to provide opportunities for students to present the results of their Japanese language studies and to promote cultural exchange with Japan and raise awareness of traffic safety.
