About the traffic safety class

A traffic safety class for all 330 students at Okayama Municipal Senoo Junior High School (Okayama Prefecture) on July 1st in collaboration with Okayama City.

July 6th, 2022    The area around Senoo Junior High School includes busy main roads and residential roads, and in response to the school's request to prevent traffic accidents with vehicles on the way to and from school, safety education was held on preventing traffic accidents at intersections and pedestrian crossings through hands-on experience with the characteristics and dangers of trucks. Students commented on the feedback they received, which helped to improve their awareness of traffic safety, such as "When passing through an intersection with poor visibility, I will always stop and check the road carefully".

We will continue to work with the police and local authorities to raise traffic safety awareness in order to reduce the number of traffic accidents involving children, even by one.

Komaru Koutsu Foundation was founded on September 9th, 2013 with the aim of spreading and raising awareness of traffic safety concepts, organizing traffic safety classes mainly in primary schools across Japan and conducting educational activities to prevent traffic accidents.Overseas, it holds Japanese composition speech contests to provide opportunities for students to present the results of their Japanese language studies and to promote cultural exchange with Japan and also raise awareness of traffic safety that is relevant to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) we support.
