About the Library Renewal Completion Ceremony for Abiki Elementary School in Fukuyama City

sponsored the renewal of the school library of Fukuyama City Abiki Elementary School in order to improve the environment for school education.



January 15th, 2021    Public interest incorporated Foundation Shibuya Ikueikai (Chairman: Shigehiro Komaru, President of Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd., hereinafter referred to as Shibuya Ikueikai) sponsored the renewal of the school library of Fukuyama City Abiki Elementary School in order to improve the environment for school education.
The completion ceremony was held on January 14th.

This sponsorship is due to agree to the activities of the Fukuyama City Board of Education which promotes environmental improvement such as enriching the collection of books, with the aim of creating diverse learning opportunities in order to develop "child-centered learning."

The completion ceremony was attended by Mr. Masaaki Miyoshi, the superintendent of the Fukuyama City Educator's Association, Mr. Setsuo Kawada, the principal of Fukuyama City Abiki Elementary School, and five representatives of the students.
We also support Kasuga Elementary School and Yamaminami Elementary School in Fukuyama city.

Shibuya Ikueikai Foundation was established in June 1985 to support the education for children. Since then, we have been working on and supporting the problems of educational institutions, community groups that promote culture, groups that conduct healthy upbringing activities for youth, and school refusal students, including scholarship lending to high school and university students. In addition, since 2013, we have invited elementary and junior high school students from around Fukuyama city every year to hold concerts by the NHK Symphony Orchestra to support the development of rich sensibilities.
