The 15th Japanese Composition Speech Contest in Beijing, China

This was the first remote event to connect Japan and Beijing, China, amid the spread of new coronavirus infections.



March 23th, 2021   Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, President: Shigehiro Komaru), Shibuya Ikueikai Public Interest Incorporated Foundation and Komaru Koutsu Foundation (Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Chairman: Shigehiro Komaru) specially sponsored the "15th Japanese Composition Speech Contest" by Chinese students held by Hiroshima University and Capital Normal University at Fukuyama Transporting Headquarters on March 20.
This was the first remote event to connect Japan and Beijing, China, amid the spread of new coronavirus infections.
Five excellent people who were judged in advance for this contest gave speeches on the theme of the Chinese poetry " although our rivers and mountains are foreign, nature's beauty and the heavens are the same " which means "even if we are in different places, our hearts are connected each other."
The highest award was given to Mr. Li Yue of Shanghai International Studies University, who gave a speech about how his father, who was reluctant to learn Japanese, gradually began to understand Japan.
Ms. Yoshiko Kijima, Minister of the Embassy of Japan in the People's Republic of China, was present as a guest, and Mr. Toshiyuki Sato, Vice President of Hiroshima University, was present as the organizer.
The first Japanese Composition Speech Contest was held in Beijing, China in 2006 to provide opportunities for presenting Japanese language education, experience cultural exchange and spreads awareness of traffic safety.
Besides Beijing in China, we hold this contest in Shanghai, Guizhou, Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, Jakarta in Indonesia, and Kaunas in Lithuania.
